A military exercise called Interaction-2010 has ended in Ukraine and all of the units involved have returned to their home bases, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on Monday.
"The drill, which started on September 6, was the final stage and an examination of the readiness of the troops to fulfill the tasks assigned," it said.
The Defense Ministry and the General Staff observed the maneuvers, saying after the drill that the troops are combat efficient in the most rigorous conditions.
About 7,500 troops, more than 1,200 pieces of armaments and military hardware, 31 aircraft and 15 warships were involved.
"Final changes will be made in the control structures of the branches and units, in the system of planning and training, and in the programs for the development of the armed forces after the drills," the Defense Ministry said.
