A possible decision of the European Union to cancel a visa regime with Ukraine could influence the acceleration of relaxation of the visa regime between Ukraine and Canada, according to Ukrainian ambassador to Canada, Ihor Ostash.
"The relaxation of the visa regime with Canada could be considerably accelerated after an expected decision of the European Union on the cancelation of the visa regime with Ukraine," the ambassador said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
He said that it is expected that in the medium outlook Canada would inform on the conducting of the so-called survey associated with Ukraine, which would give a chance to make certain steps in easing of the visa regime. He said that the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada conducts country surveys. They study all parameters linked to the migration processes, security and job placement.
"We hope that the result of the survey conduction for Ukraine would be a positive conclusion, which would allow making next step to the expediting of the visa processing," the ambassador said.
