Ukraine and Canada have signed a memorandum on mutual understanding regarding youth exchanges, the press service of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych reported on Monday.

The document was signed by Ukrainian Family, Youth and Sports Minister Ravil Safiullin and Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Daniel Caron at a meeting attended by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

The main objective of the memorandum is to assist in the youth exchanges so that Ukrainians and Canadians can receive better opportunities to travel, study and work in the two countries.

Ukraine and Canada have also agreed to boost the number of flights between the two countries, Yanukovych has said.

"We have also agreed that we [the leaders of Ukraine and Canada] will help to considerably increase the number of flights between Ukraine and Canada," he said at a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
