Ukraine will spend 927.8 million on holding the local elections, airman of the Central Election Commission Volodymyr Shapoval said at a press conference on Sunday.

According to him, the commission approved a subvention of UAH 927.834,700 from the national budget for preparing and holding the local elections.

Most of the funds will be spent on paying the wages of members of election commissions and experts – UAH 471.5 million. Some UAH 159.7 million will be allocated for the pre-election campaign, and UAH 123.6 million – for printing election documentation, UAH 62.6 million – for services of the press, UAH 22.8 million – for voting booths, and UAH 132.6 million to cover the expenditures of election commissions (communications, transport, rent).

The State Treasury of Ukraine has transferred UAH 921.624 million to the accounts of the territorial election commissions as of Oct. 31. The remaining UAH 51.2 million will be transferred at the beginning of November.

"The Central Election Commission and territorial commissions faced no funding problems," Shapoval said.

The official exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine is UAH 7.911/ U.S. dollar.
