Vienna, Nov. 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has called on Austrians to invest in Ukraine.

"Stability, reliability and predictability – these are our main guarantees to those who would like to cooperate with us," he said during a Ukrainian lunch during the Vienna Economic Forum on Monday.

According to Azarov, "the government will do everything possible" for deregulation and the simplification of doing business in Ukraine.

"Recently, I looked through proposals from our ministries, and we agreed that each ministry would have no more than one controlling agency," the Ukrainian premier announced.

He added that the government intends to support all possible investment directions connected with the country’s development. According to Azarov, the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine might be a promising one for Austrian investment. He also stressed that development of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex would not hurt French or Polish farmers, because at the first stage it will be aimed at satisfying domestic demand.

"We import meat. What for? We can satisfy our needs in full. Instead we will export high technologies. That is why we call for you to invest into the agro-industrial complex," he added.

Azarov added that in the near future Ukraine would establish a land market, which would give a powerful impetus to possible investment. Among other investment priorities the premier named medicine, the modernization of state gas transport system and construction of a liquid gas processing plant.

The prime minister also called for investments into energy saving technologies in Ukraine. He stressed that reduction of energy consumption was a main task of the Ukrainian government.

Azarov also called for investment into shipbuilding, the aircraft industry and high technologies. "We are going to re-equip our schools and higher schools with computer technologies. Why do we have to buy computers if we can produce them on our own?" he said, adding that there are experts in Ukraine who could successfully realize these projects.

The prime minister also called for investment into the development of roads and ports, and other areas.
