Official checks conducted by the Ukrainian Interior Ministry due to an incident between Kostiantyn Stohniy, an adviser to the interior minister, and former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko have found no violations and offense in Stohniy's actions.

"The materials of official checks due to the incident between the minister’s adviser, Kostiantyn Stohniy, and former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko have been submitted to Ukrainian Interior Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov for a final decision," the ministry’s media liaisons office quoted the minister’s spokeswoman, Iryna Shynkarenko, as saying on Friday.

The director of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry’s media liaisons office, Dmytro Andreyev, said earlier that Stohniy had punched Lutsenko late on November 12 after a talk show on the Ukraina TV Channel. Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense MP Hrymchak, in turn, said that Stohniy had beaten him and that Lutsenko had not participated in the brawl. The MP also submitted statements to the police and the Prosecutor General’s Office demanding that a criminal case be opened against Stohniy.

Stohniy, in turn, claimed that there had been no fight at all and that he had no claims against Lutsenko.

Lutsenko said that Stohniy wanted to evade responsibility for the beating of Hrymchak

The Interior Ministry was conducting official checks in this connection.
