Disagreements with Russia on gas prices will not affect the reliability of gas transit to Europe across Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"Yes, we have disagreements with the Russian side regarding gas prices. But this does not mean that we will violate the terms of gas and oil supplies to Europe. Quite the contrary, we will do absolutely everything to ensure that these supplies are absolutely reliable and stable," he said at a Ukrainian-Belgian business forum in Kyiv on Monday.

Azarov said that Ukraine had done everything it could to ensure stable supplies, in particular, it had accumulated a significant amount of gas in its gas storage facilities.

"Europe can be confident that the situation seen in January 2009 will never happen again," he said.
