You're reading: Gryshchenko: Baltic region among Ukraine’s foreign policy priorities

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko said that the Baltic region occupies an important place among the priorities of Ukraine's foreign policy.

Hryschenko said this at a meeting with Director General of the Council of the Baltic Sea States Jan Lundin in Stockholm on Monday, the Department of Information Policy of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

"During the meeting, Lundin briefed Hryschenko about the current state and priorities of the Council’s activities, in particularly regarding the cooperation with Ukraine as an observer country. He commended the active participation of Ukraine in the individual projects of the Council and expressed hope for further cooperation with Ukraine, in particular in the areas of sustainable development, nuclear safety, education and combating human trafficking, ," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

For his part Hryschenko noted that the Baltic region occupies an important place among the priorities of Ukraine’s foreign policy and stressed that Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with the Council.
