The Ukrainian-Russian Fairway of Peace 2011 military drills will have the proper level quality, the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Vice Admiral Vladimir Korolev, has said.

He told reporters in Sevastopol on December 6 after laying flowers and wreaths at the Memorial to the Heroic Defenders of Sevastopol of 1941-1942 on the occasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Day that "the beginning of cooperation was laid at the Fairway of Peace 2010 exercises carried out by our fleets."

"In 2011 we will have [during the talks] more constructive aspects linked to inter-specific groups. I think that my colleague and I will again discuss what has to done. These will be worthy drills aimed at the protection of our native Ukraine and Russia here in Crimea," Korolev said.

Ukrainian Navy Commander, Admiral Viktor Maksymov, in turn, thanked his colleague for his assistance in training Ukrainian sailors on board the Alrosa submarine of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

"We are working together. They have provided significant assistance to us in training our submariners. I think that our submarine will soon also put to sea," Maksymov said.

This year, after a long break, the two fleets conducted joint Fairway of Peace 2010 drills.

The Armed Forces Day was marked on December 6.
