You're reading: Yanukovych orders creation of integrated state system to combat cybercrime

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has ordered the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) within two months to work out and submit for consideration of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine proposals for an integrated state system to combat cybercrime.

The president ordered the Cabinet and SBU to make up and approve a list of critical facilities necessary for the national security and defense of Ukraine that require primary protection from cyber attacks.

This decision was made on the basis of a complex analysis of challenges and threats to the national security of Ukraine in 2011.

A corresponding order No. 1119/2010 "On the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of November 17, 2010 "On the challenges and threats to the national security of Ukraine in 2011" has been posted on the official Web site of the president.
