The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is planning to make staff cuts at its foreign diplomatic missions.

"The president set a task to all government agencies to reduce their personnel by 30%…of course, our foreign institutions will also have to this," Director of the Information Policy Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleh Voloshyn said at a briefing on Tuesday.

According to him, the issue will be considered and the effectiveness of work of the personnel at Ukrainian embassies and consulates will be evaluated.

"We will have to make these cuts, as this task was set by the president," he said.

According to Voloshyn, this is a reasonable measure, as the state apparatus is "unnecessarily exaggerated."
