The Foreign Ministry will help representatives of the Ukrainian community in Russia create a non-governmental organization to protect their rights.

"The Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow, at the request of Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko, has already been working with public activists and representatives of the Ukrainian community in Russia so as to create as soon as possible a non-governmental organization that would protect their rights," the director of the ministry’s information policy department, Oleh Voloshyn, told Interfax-Ukraine on Sunday.

He said that the community of Ukrainians in Russia included over three million people that are in need of such an organization.

Voloshyn said that Russia had assured Ukraine that Moscow was ready to provide assistance in this direction.
