You're reading: Update: Makiivka bombers threaten more blasts

A letter demanding money under the threat of five more explosions was found near the blast scene in Makiivka, Deputy Interior Minister Vasyl Farynnyk said on Jan. 20 during press conference in Kyiv.

"A letter demanding a large sum of money threatening five more explosions at 5 p.m. was found nearby," he said.

Two bombs went off in Makiivka early on Jan. 20. There are no reports of casualties or injuries.

State Security Service head Valeriy Khoroshkovskiy has left Kyiv for Donetsk region to visit the scene of the blasts and help with the investigation.
