Ukraine and Turkey have agreed to launch measures aimed at canceling visa requirements, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said.

"We have agreed to launch a visa cancellation process," Yanukovych said at a news conference after talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Erdogan said he hoped that talks on this issue would be completed "as soon as possible."

An agreement on readmission will be drafted simultaneously, he said.
