Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych could pay an official visit to Slovakia this June, Ambassador of Slovakia to Ukraine Pavol Hamzik has said.

"We are preparing for an official visit by your president at some time in June this year," Hamzik said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

In addition, he said that as expected, on February 15, 2011, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov would visit Slovakia to attend a meeting of the heads of governments of the countries of the Visegrad Group (Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) and neighbouring countries. Representatives of the governments of Germany and Austria will also take part in the events.

Hamzik also noted that a meeting of foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group and foreign ministers of member states of the Eastern Partnership is to take place on March 3, 2011.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko plans to attend these events.

The sides are also preparing for visits by representatives of the Ukrainian parliament to Slovakia, the ambassador added.
