You're reading: Nalyvaichenko sends letter to OSCE regarding violations of rights of Ukrainians in Russia

Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, the leader of the Our Ukraine political council, has sent a letter to the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Knut Vollebaek, regarding the violations of rights of the Ukrainian community in Russia.

In his letter, Nalyvaichenko expressed concern over the rights of Ukrainians in Russia, gave certain examples of infringements and noted that Russia has to observe its international obligations, as stipulated in international and bilateral intergovernmental agreements, the party’s press service reported.

Nalyvaichenko also asked the commissioner to intervene in the situation and monitor it personally.

As reported, representatives of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on the Russian side to be as reasonable as possible towards the organization of the Ukrainian diaspora in Russia.
