You're reading: Government to give 3 months advance notice of transfer of working days during holidays

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a law on amendments to Article 67 of the Code of Laws on Labor regarding the transfer of working days.

The law was approved by the Ukrainian parliament on January 11, 2011.

The MPs amended Article 67 of the Code with the following text: "In order to create favorable conditions for taking holidays and days off (Article 73), as well as for the rational use of time, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine can recommend, no later than three months before such days, that the heads of enterprises, companies and organizations transfer days off and working days in line with the procedure and order established by the law for employees working for five days a week at a time, with two days off."

According to the adopted amendments, if an enterprise’s owner or authorized agency apply the cabinet recommendations, then no later than two months before such days they are to issue an order (resolution) on the transfer of days off and the working days at enterprises, companies and organizations, and this is also must be agreed with a trade union representative.

The law comes into effect from the moment of its publication.
