You're reading: World learns no sensations from Wikileaks, says Ukrainian foreign minister

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has said that Wikileaks data leak has not given sensations to the world.

"The sensation was the fact of the leak, but no the content of the documents," the minister said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

Hryschenko said that today is the new situation.

"In the epoch of Internet, no one would give us guarantees that the document that is now is of top secret, would be read in a minute by housewives all over the world," the minister said.

He added that in theory this could lead to serious misunderstanding and even conflicts between countries.

"However, if we take the situation, there was no sensation as it had been expected. Actually the world learnt nothing new. I think that the public was even disappointed to some extent that state secrets often coincide with newspaper headlines," Hryschenko said.
