The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has introduced tighter security measures on the railway, the ministry's press service reported.

According to Deputy Minister Volodymyr Korniyenko, railway workers together with law enforcers checked 357 railway stations and more than 2,700 of other railroad facilities, which might be attacked by terrorists.

"No explosives or other dangerous substances were found during the checks," Korniyenko said.

"On the whole, we are closely monitoring the situation in railway transport. We must ensure security in such a way that our passengers should feel as little as possible outside interference, and enjoy high level of services," the deputy minister said.
