You're reading: Two planes to evacuate Ukrainian citizens from Egypt on Feb. 4-5

Two planes will be sent to Egypt on Feb. 4-5 to evacuate Ukrainians living there, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Oleksandr Dykusarov has said.

"It is planned that on Feb. 4 morning a plane seating some 150 passengers will depart to Hurghada, and on Feb. 5 morning one more flight Kyiv-Cairo-Hurghada-Kyiv will be carried out," he said at a press conference on Kyiv on Thursday.

Dykusarov noted that over 150 Ukrainian citizens, who live in Hurghada, Cairo, Sharm el-Sheikh and Alexandria, have asked the Embassy of Ukraine for assistance in leaving Egypt.

The spokesman of the Foreign Ministry stressed that he did not mean Ukrainian tourists, and added that they are returning to Ukraine under in a scheduled regime.

"Some 2,000 citizens have returned to Ukraine, by the end of this week about 4,000 will return under the scheduled regime," he said.

Dykusarov added that were no Ukrainians among those killed and injured during rioting in Egypt.
