The government of Ukraine has introduced amendments to the regulations of the state-run Ukrspecexport Company, under which the state company, along with making repairs and sales, has the right to produce non-military firearms and ammunition for them.

This is stipulated in cabinet resolution No.62 of February 2.

According to the previous wording of the regulations, the company conducted repairs and sales of sports, hunting firearms and ammunition for them, non-firearms, and air guns with calibers of over 4.5 mm and muzzle velocities of over 100 meters per second.

On December 28, 2010, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed an ordinance establishing Ukroboronprom.

A government resolution of December 29, 2010, on the establishment of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, amalgamated seven state-run companies, among them Ukrspecexport, Ukroboronservice, Ukrinmash, specialized foreign trade firm Progress, Spetstekhnoexport, Promoboronexport and TASKO-Export.

Former head of Ukrspecexport Dmytro Salamatin was appointed as Ukroboronprom’s general director in January 2011.

Dmytro Perehudov became the acting general director of Ukrspecexport.
