The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has said that the scientific activities of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance will not be stopped.

"The administrative reform should improve the efficiency of the government system. One of its major tasks is to optimize the number of state agencies and institutions. According to the decision of the government, the ceiling for the number of employees of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance is 70.
This figure is slightly less than the previously planned number of staff of the Institute (105 employees) but its reduction is less than in other executive agencies. We want to note that in 2006 the Institute had 12 employees in 2007 – 19, in 2008 – 41, in 2009 – 49, in 2010 – 44 employees. This year, the budget funding has been assigned for 43 employees, which means that there have been more jobs than employees, and are still vacancies," the department of information and public relations of the Cabinet’s office reported on Saturday.

The government noted that as a part of reforms of executive authorities in Ukraine, the UINR was established as a research institution, which will be subordinate to the government.

The government stressed that its main task is to reconstruct the real history of the Ukrainian nation, and work out and implement the state policy in this area.
