The last group of Ukrainian tourists who were on holiday in Egypt during that country's popular uprising returned to Ukraine on February 12, the Association of Leaders of the Tourist Business of Ukraine (ALTU) has reported.

"The last Ukrainian tourist left Egypt on February 12. All of the tourists have returned home as planned," the ALTU said.

As reported, from 6,500 to 7,000 Ukrainian tourists were in Egypt as of January 31, 2011, in particular, about 3,500 in Sharm el-Sheikh and about 3,000 in Hurghada.

Ukrainian Emergencies Minister Viktor Baloha said earlier that the evacuation of Ukrainians from Egypt, according to preliminary estimates, cost the state UAH 1-1.5 million, while on January 31 the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 10 million for this purpose.
