The average pension in Ukraine in 2011 may reach Hr 1.380, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
"I see that the average pension amounting to at least Hr 1.380 by the end of this year," he said, while opening a meeting of the Economic Reform Committee in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The president said that pensions should be increased as soon as the economic figures allow it.
Yanukovych also asked Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko to clarify the situation with the introduction of social cards.
He praised Tigipko’s activities in preparing pension reform.
"It is good that the bill on pension reform is undergoing public discussion," Yanukovych said.
