You're reading: Gryshchenko: Ukraine will sign free trade agreement within CIS by the end of the year

An agreement on the creation of a free trade area within the CIS is to be signed before the end of this year, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has said.

"[The issue of a] free trade within the CIS is moving very actively. We are planning to [sign the free trade agreement] before the end of the year," he said at a meeting of the Economic Reform Committee involving the Ukrainian president in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Hryschenko also said that a program of long-term trade cooperation between Ukraine and Russia would soon be drafted.
