You're reading: Some Ukrainians leave Libya on Russian plane, ferry

Ukrainian citizens are continuing to board a plane of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry at the airport of Tripoli, Libya, while some Ukrainians have already left the country on an aircraft of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and on a Russian ferry, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Andriy Kliuyev has said.

The Russian aircraft is to land in Moscow on Wednesday afternoon, Kliuyev’s press service reported. The Russian ferry left the port city of Benghazi on Tuesday and is due to arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday.

Kliuyev also said that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reached preliminary agreements through diplomatic channels that the Greek and Turkish ferries that are to leave the port of Benghazi this week will also take on board Ukrainian citizens, including those without visas for Greece and Turkey.

The number of Ukrainian evacuees hasn’t been reported.
