You're reading: Cabinet approves procedure for drinking water program

The Ukrainian cabinet has approved a procedure for the use of funds foreseen in the national budget for the Drinking Water of Ukraine program for 2006-2020, reads a press release of the Regional Development, Construction and Utility Ministry.

According to the report, budget funds will be sent to build and reconstruct the central water supply and sewage disposal systems to improve the quality of drinking water and introduce energy saving technologies, introduce local and collective water purification stations in those regions with bad ecological conditions, and to supply water to kindergartens, schools and medical centers, including in rural areas.

According to the document, the Crimean council of ministers, and regional, Kyiv and Sevastopol administrations are to submit proposals and ask for funds for the existing projects.

The ministry said that the approximate amount of financing of the Drinking Water of Ukraine program until 2020 is Hr 9.5 billion, including Hr 3 billion from the national budget.
