Ukraine is considering sending a warship to Libya to evacuate its citizens, the director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's information policy department, Oleh Voloshyn, has said.

"There is an operational headquarters headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev, and the Foreign Ministry and the Defense Ministry are also actively involved. The issue of sending a warship to Libya is actually being discussed now. We will see how the situation develops," he said on the Shuster Live talk show on Friday, Feb. 25.

Voloshyn said that 60 Ukrainians were registered at the Ukrainian Embassy in Libya, but the actual number of Ukrainian citizens living in this country was much greater. He said that over 160 Ukrainians had already been evacuated from Libya. According to the embassy, there are about 2,500 Ukrainian citizens in Libya.
