The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry had dropped its recommendation for Ukrainians not to visit the Egyptian resort cities of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.

"We can say that the recommendation not to visit Egypt concerns only the big cities – Cairo, Alexandria and Suez. The travel warning for such resort cities as Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh has been dropped," ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov said at a briefing on Tuesday.

He said that the security situation in the Egyptian resorts was not considered a threat to tourists. He noted that tourists from several European countries, including Ukraine, were already vacationing in Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.

As for Tunisia, Dykusarov said that the recommendation for Ukrainian citizens to refrain from visiting this country remained unchanged, as the situation remained tense there.

"According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Tunisia, there are no Ukrainians among those injured or killed as a result of recent developments, and Ukrainians have not asked for aid at the diplomatic office," he added.
