You're reading: Ukraine prepares 77.5% of required hotel rooms for Euro 2012

TUI Travel (Britain), the official tour operator of UEFA, has signed a contract with Ukrainian hotels for 14,100 hotel rooms, with the total requirement being 18,200 rooms, according to the Web site of the Ukraine 2012 information center, referring to the national agency for Ukraine's preparations for Euro 2012 (Ukrevroinfraproekt).

According to a report, TUI Travel, in particular, reserved 6,500 rooms in Kyiv, which is 89% of the required 7,300 rooms.

Along with this, UEFA’s requirement related to the number of hotel rooms in Donetsk are 44% fulfilled (5,600 rooms are needed), that in Kharkiv 80.4% (2,200 rooms).

TUI Travel reserved 2,900 hotel rooms in Lviv, which is 114% of UEFA’s requirements.

According to the Ukraine 2012 information center, the current deficit of hotel rooms has to be covered by hotels under construction or those under reconstruction in the cities that will host the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.

In addition, in early 2012 Ukraine plans to open hotels of the Holiday Inn chain (Kyiv, 79 Antonovycha Street) and the Hilton chain (Kyiv, 28-30 Shevchenko Boulevard).
