No Ukrainians were hurt in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in the state of Parana, Brazil, Director of the Department of Information Policy of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleksandr Dykusarov said referring to Ukraine's Consulate in the city of Curitiba.

According to the consulate, two people died and 4,000 were left without homes as a result of a mudslide triggered by rains on the Atlantic coast of the Brazilian state of Parana, on Sunday, March 13.

The coast area is currently isolated from the rest of the state and the cities of Paranagua, Morretes and other towns have been left without drinking water.

"The government of the state of Parana has set up an operational headquarters to deal with the disaster, organize rescue operations and help local residents," Dykusarov said, adding that the Ukrainian community is actively participating in relief operations.
