You're reading: Ukrainian rescuers ready to fly to Japan to search for earthquake victims

A mobile rescue unit of the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry is fully prepared to fly to Japan to help search for people missing in the earthquake-hit regions of the country.

A total of 45 rescuers, two sets of equipment, and six dogs are ready to fly to Japan, the Ukrainian government’s press service reported on Monday.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has assigned around Hr 5 million to provide humanitarian assistance to Japan.

The government of Japan thanked Ukraine for its prompt response and readiness to help.

Japan is currently deciding in which areas it will require assistance.
