John Marone writes:Victor Yanukovych, Ukraine’s new president, may very well prove to all his critics and naysayers that he’s no Russian wannabe, but the burly Donbass boss is still a bear – no less power hungry and ferocious than the ones in Moscow. Ever since his failure to take the presidency in 2004, which was backed by the Kremlin but opposed by hundreds of thousands of peaceful street protesters in Kyiv, Yanukovych has had a difficult time trying to shed his image as a pro-Russian politician.
