In the interview, Andrukhovych clarifies his position:

Andrukhovych: "[…] I still maintain this view. I did not say that seccession is obligatory, but that it makes sense to consider such an option. This unexepectedly could be an easy and civilized way to solve the problem, which today prevents Ukrainians from being themselves and blocks Ukraine from moving in the direction it has to. Two fruitless decades have passed [since Independence]. Ukraine is the same now as it was then. This is a bad and demoralizing state of affairs.
