Batkivschyna Party leader and former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has returned to Kyiv from Brussels, Belgium, where she attended a summit of the European People's Party (EPP).

A plane with Tymoshenko on board landed at the Zhuliany Airport in Kyiv on Friday.

In Brussels, Tymoshenko slammed the activities of the current government in the sphere of EU integration and said that the Ukrainian opposition was to monitor the implementation of the EU-Ukraine association agenda to ensure that the process of European integration is irreversible.

As reported, Tymoshenko is charged with the misuse of funds received by Ukraine under the Kyoto Protocol, and abuse of office while purchasing Opel Combo vehicles against government guarantees.

Earlier, Tymoshenko had been banned from travelling outside Kyiv. But then the Prosecutor General’s Office allowed Tymoshenko to travel to Brussels, as investigative actions have been completed.
