Pavlo Sychov, the lawyer for a former officer of the Department of State Guard of Ukraine, Major Mykola Melnychenko, has said that a face-to-face interrogation between his client and second Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma (1994-2005) will not take place on Wednesday.
"The face-to-face interrogation will not be held today. It has again been disrupted by Leonid Danylovych Kuchma," he told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday after leaving the building of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Neither Sychov nor Melnychenko specified why the interrogation would be moved to another date, saying that they planned to disclose all the details at a press conference on Wednesday.
