Ukraine could help Brunei strengthen its defensive potential, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has said.

"We have something to offer [Brunei] to strengthen the defensive potential of this small country. Of course, here the issue doesn’t concern huge volumes of supplies," he told journalists in Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei) on Wednesday, while commenting on the results of bilateral talks held between Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah.

Hryschenko said that a memorandum of understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of Brunei regarding cooperation in the defense sector foresaw the training of Bruneian servicemen by Ukrainian experts and the creation of conditions for the effective supplies of those types of military equipment that the partners in Brunei are interested in.

"I think we have things that might be interesting to those responsible for the defense of Brunei," he said.
