U.S. lawyer Alan Dershowitz has said that he will conduct most his work on the defense of second Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma in the United States.

"I will conduct the largest part of my work in the United States of America. The largest part of the work, which I have already carried out, was conducted outside Ukraine," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on April 11.

According to Dershowitz, he gives advice and consults with the lawyers who are working with clients.

When asked whether he will represent interests of Kuchma in court, Dershowitz answered: “This still has to be decided. The court will decide on this. It will decide whether I can be in court…"

He also added: “We have to specify which role I will play, but I will play an active role."

Dershowitz also said that he had represented interests of his clients in Israel, Russia, Canada, and the Soviet Union.

"I’ve worked as a lawyer all around the world," he said.
