Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kyiv for talks on issues including proposals for more extensive Russian-Ukrainian cooperation under energy projects, in space exploration, aircraft building, transportation, technological innovation and agriculture, the Russian government said.

Cooperation in the nuclear energy industry is one of the issues to be raised, the government press service told Interfax.

The press service said Putin would meet with Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych and Prime Minister Mykola Azarov during his working visit.

Putin and Yanukovych are expected to discuss a proposal for Ukraine’s entry to the Customs Union and the emergent Common Economic Space – associations currently bringing together Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
