The BYT-Batkivschyna faction has proposed that the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, hear a report by Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov during the hour of questions for the government on Friday.

"We have again submitted a proposal to hear [a report from] the head of the government," BYT-Batkivschyna faction leader Ivan Kyrylenko said at a meeting of the conciliatory council on Monday.

He also noted that the proposal of the faction is linked to a significant "leap in prices for housing and utility tariffs, drugs, and fuel".

"Only the head of government will be able to answer these questions in full," the MP said.

First Verkhovna Rada Chairman Adam Martyniuk, in turn, said that the parliament could hear a report by Azarov during the hour of questions for the government meeting.

"We can hear a report by the premier only if the decision by the Verkhovna Rada is approved," Martyniuk said.

He proposed that Kyrylenko draw up a resolution on hearing a report by Azarov, which then could be submitted to parliament for consideration, and a relevant decision would then be taken.
