You're reading: Tymoshenko to demand jury trial

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said on the First National TV Channel that she plans to prove her innocence in international court and will demand hearing of her case by jury trial in Ukraine.

"Our Constitution foresees jury trials. I’ll ask the court system to involve a jury," she said on the Shuster Live show.

Tymoshenko doubts incorruptibility of Ukrainian courts, so she will prove that she did not commit a crime during the signing of gas contracts in international courts.
