Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has appointed Anatoliy Ponomarenko head of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine.
A relevant decree was published on the Web site of the head of state on Wednesday.
The president also dismissed Serhiy Ryzhenko from this post.
Ponomarenko was previously the chief medical officer of Kyiv.
Ryzhenko submitted a letter of resignation from the post of chief state sanitary doctor in late May.
