Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin could meet in the middle of July to discuss economic issues of concern, including energy issues, according to Azarov.

"In the middle of July it is likely that I will meet the Russian premier and we will capsule the discussion of all of the disputable issues considered by working groups," he said in an interview with the program Tkachenko.ua broadcast on Monday evening.

Azarov said that in a recent phone talk with Putin they agreed that the Russian prime minister will order his ministers to step up work of working groups on the discussion of issues of concern, including energy issues.

The Ukrainian premier again said that Ukraine will insists on having the market price of Russian gas for the country and on having less price than the price for Poland, Slovakia and Germany. He also said that Ukraine as a large gas buyer should have discounts.

Azarov also said that rumors on his retirement are political technologies aimed at making the country’s economy unstable.
