Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has expressed hope that a court hearing against former prime minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and hearings against other former officials will be of the European standard and open.

"I hope that the court hearing will be of the European [standard], free and open," he said in an interview with the program Tkachenko.ua broadcast on Monday evening.

The premier said that he would like that all of the court hearings were transparent and in line with Ukrainian law.

"I’d like the only thing: everything should be rather transparent, in line with Ukrainian law and all people have the right to protect themselves. I would not wish that anyone be on the wrong side of the bar," he said.
