Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko believes it is unacceptable that a representatives of RosUkrEnergo has been permitted to participate in her trial as a representative of Naftohaz of Ukraine.
"This is a representatives of the corrupt structure RosUkrEnergo. Therefore, I do not recognize this," Yulia Tymoshenko said during today’s court session, reads statement on Tymoshenko’s website.
Despite the protest of the ex-premier, Judge Rodion Kireyev allowed Volodymyr Skopych to be the representative of the civil plaintiff, which in this trial is Naftohaz.
Court, which is considering the gas supply case against Tymoshenko on Wednesday, has retired to the deliberation room to decide on a petition lodged by Tymoshenko’s lawyer regarding the withdrawal of the presiding judge, Rodion Kireyev.
After a 15-minute break in the court session, lawyer Mykola Tytarenko had announced a petition on the withdrawal of judge Kireyev, saying that the decision to ban the broadcasting, photo and video recording of the trial violates the principles of transparency and openness.
The prosecutors in the trial spoke against the petition.
The court is to retire to the deliberation room until 14.00.
