Italy is watching the proceedings against former Ukrainian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko with anxiety.

Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini ordered to invite Ukrainian ambassador to Italy on August 12 to express Italy’s anxiety when watching the development of the proceedings against Tymoshenko, reads a posting on the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Italy wants to point out the necessity to observe main human rights, requirements of the constitutional state and transparent proceedings in line with democratic and international standards of court practice.
