Kyiv's Pechersky District Court has started a meeting on the consideration of the Russian gas supply contract case against former Ukrainian Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

Tymoshenko’s husband, Oleksandr, and her daughter, Yevhenia Carr, who act defense lawyers for the ex-premier, arrived in the courtroom.

The presiding judge, Rodion Kireyev, is currently reading out the rights of Carr, who arrived for a court session for the first time after Tymoshenko’s arrest.

Rallies in support of and against the former prime minister are being held on Khreschatyk Street.
