You're reading: Court adjourns hearings of Tymoshenko’s case on Aug. 18

Judge Rodion Kireyev has announced a break in Kyiv Pechersky District Court's meeting until 14.00 on Aug. 18 to give the defendant - former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko enough time to prepare to give testimony.

Kireyev announced this decision in courtroom on Wednesday.

Today third Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and his former representative for international energy security Bohdan Sokolovsky have arrived at the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv to testify in the case on charges brought against Tymoshenko regarding the abuse of office while signing gas supply contracts with Russia in 2009.

On Tuesday, the court ruled to bring Sokolovsky to the courtroom by force, and another summons was sent to Yushchenko.
