Kyiv police officers did not use tear-gas against opposition supporters gathered downtown Kyiv, the chief department of the Interior Ministry in Kyiv has told Interfax-Ukraine.

The center for public relations of the chief department said that sticks, bottles, umbrellas and other things were thrown towards police officers who maintain order on the streets.

"Police officers only protected themselves with shields and tear-gas was not used," the center said.
