Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said he has vivid memories of his first year in school and is still in touch with his first teacher.
"I still remember my first teacher, and still keep in touch with him," he told reporters after the opening of Kyiv School of Engineering on Thursday, his press office reported.
Yanukovych also said that his old school was currently being reconstructed.
"I hope that in the near future it will have a contemporary look," he said.
When asked whether he cheated in school, the president said: "Like everybody. I cheated and helped others. There were various situations."
The president said that mathematics and physics were his favorite subjects in school.
